A Blog? Seriously?
As I finally got this website under my name instead of a Bear Blog derivative, traffic has shot up. So hello to the people who navigated the blog portion.
And you may be asking yourself: Why the freak is someone doing a daily blog in 2026?
Unfortunately, I don’t have a good answer for that.
But what I can say is, it’s a place for me to map out musical thoughts that may or may not be interesting to people, and stories that also may or may not be interesting, also to people.
What I’ve found through doing this for, like, 270-some-odd days every day in a row—it’s been going on longer, but days in a row is about 270—is that I’m thinking clearer, and I can get my point across a lot quicker.
I’m trying not to have it be a LinkedIn blog where I take a tiny thought and expand it, and then teach you a stupid lesson. Nobody wants that, except for the guys on LinkedIn reading each other's posts.
There are things in the musical universe, and the music-adjacent universe, and old people playing music, and being in bands, and doing electronic music, but also playing acoustic music, and playing bass, that no one talks about anywhere. It’s part philosophy, and it’s usually best when the stories get mixed with the entries and you’re left to draw your own conclusions.
It’s super monoculture out there. People are out there talking about only certain things, and then something gets interesting and everybody jumps on whatever the hot topic is. This is the anti-that. A place where completely random but applicable stuff gets talked about.
So that’s it.
Welcome to all the new readers. I’m super happy you’re reading. I’m also horrified that it’s easier to find. That’s the bizarre part about this: it’s easy to do when no one’s reading, and now that people are reading, I don’t know.
I mean, what’s the point if no one’s reading, right?
