Don’t Fight The Gig
I really like the energy of setup.
Couple events going on at UT. I’m doing a DJ set for a tailgate, and then I got to see Sugar Ray’s soundcheck.
I did not go up and bug them afterwards, as I don’t know them, but the pre-energy before gigs is always super fun and feels good.
I really like doing events, and that’s a large part of it. It’s kind of the hype before. It’s a really fun time. It’s very chilled out, but everyone’s in a good mood, expecting things to go right.
Closer to the event, things can get a little weird, and then during the event you just have to take what you got.
Likewise, that’s something that I’ve learned through all this. You can’t fight it. You just have to exist in the moment of what’s going on, and then you’re good. Then you’ll really enjoy yourself.
Hook ’em.
