Un-Copy-Able Gigs Are the Best Gigs

Great gig last night. Just didn’t post yesterday for some reason.

We do a variety show centered around the band English Teeth. Kevin plans, and we execute.

We did a Halloween-themed show with the Misfits, the Cramps, Bow Wow Wow’s “I Want Candy,” and a bunch of goth-style music. And boy oh boy, did we really pull it off.

The center of the whole thing is Kevin’s and my relationship, which is just mercilessly screwing with each other and, like, really going at it. We never really have a chance to do that personally, but we do onstage, which 100% comes off and actually makes people very nervous.

The best part about the show is that no one else could do it. Our relationship is unique, and not from, like, a podcasting-bro standpoint where it’s “take a look at our cool lives.” It just is hilarious. The way we talk with each other and go at it, and the fighting onstage, is really coming off.

We did a run of three, one a month. First one was pretty well attended, second one was full, and this third one was packed.

You know when you get a hug from the club owner, you’re really going full beans.

We’re gonna take a break and do more in the spring, but it’s so fun to do something musically that no one else can do.

Yes, you go to a show. Yes, that’s all well and good. But can you put on an actual show? Like an entertaining show?

The music is always gonna be entertaining, but the thing in between is the real thing, and we just totally nailed it.

This is what playing music should be like, feeling-wise anyway.
