You’re So Bored You’re Even Reading This

I have some really good news if you’re an artist trying to get noticed: You do not even have to be good these days.

I think there are enough people out there so bored on their phone, on their computer, on their whatever, just looking for anything halfway interesting. And I bet if you’re an artist, you can be at least halfway interesting.

The only thing you have to do is be consistent.

I am not a lot of things, but I can be really consistent in my efforts. Walking or riding my bike every day—and I mean every single day, with no skipping—for over six years.

This is not me bragging about myself. It’s just something that I was able to do to where now it’s effortless, and it just happens.

This blog, whatever you think of it: 280-some-odd days in a row, just posting. I look forward to it. I’ve made it as easy as possible.

I dictate it. I put it in AI. I yell at AI to not change it, just clean it up. Then it doesn’t do it. Then I yell at it. And eventually we get to what we’ve come to call 3%, with no other thing, and it does it, and we’re all happy.

Being myself, using my own voice, and yelling at AI to preserve that voice. And here we are. You’re reading it.

I’ve seen interest in my music and gigs perk up.

I have new music coming out this month. I’m not talking about it because there is nothing worse from musicians than ‘Good things are happening’ or’ New music coming’. It is the worst.

I’m going to tell you when the music is out, and if you listen, great. If not, I totally understand. We all have priorities, and you may be at work dying a death gruesome enough to have actually happened upon this blog.

Then can you imagine how bored someone has to be to click through and listen to some new music of mine?

I mean, that’s the whole point.
